Frequently asked questions

None at all. Our courses start from scratch and follow the internationally recognised IKO method. You'll begin on land learning kite control, wind theory and safety protocols before ever touching the water. Progression is gradual and tailored to you: most students ride their first metres between the second and third session. If you already have experience, we assess your level in the first lesson and move straight on to transitions, upwind riding or jumps.
Dénia benefits from the Levante, the thermal wind that blows in from the sea and usually fills in during the early afternoon in the warm season. It's a steady, consistent wind of around 12 to 22 knots, ideal for learning because it's predictable and not gusty. May through September offers the most reliable conditions. Each morning we check the forecast and confirm your optimal time slot; if the wind doesn't cooperate, we reschedule the session at no charge.
All technical gear is included: kite, board, bar, harness, wetsuit, buoyancy aid and helmet. We also provide a communication radio to guide you from the water and a safety boat on standby at all times. You only need to bring a swimsuit, water-resistant sunscreen, sunglasses with a strap and a towel. We recommend water shoes if your soles are sensitive. After the session you have access to showers, changing rooms and a relaxation area overlooking the bay for a drink.
Kitesurfing is very safe when learned with certified instructors in a controlled setting, which is exactly our case. We always work with a support boat, low student-to-instructor ratios and quick-release systems on all equipment. The minimum age is 12 (with parental consent for minors) and we recommend a weight from around 40 kg to handle the kite comfortably. No special fitness is required, but you must be able to swim. If you have any medical condition, let us know before booking.
